Sonata Senior Living, an award-winning Orlando based owner, developer and operator of innovative senior living communities, will assume management of four Assisted Living and Memory Care communities in South Florida. The four communities are owned by HCP Inc. (HCP), a real estate investment trust, and have been under long-term lease to another operator. The long-term lease expires on November 30, 2016. Starting Dec. 1, Sonata will begin operating the communities under a management agreement with HCP – (to be called) Sonata Boca Raton, Sonata Boynton Beach, Sonata Coconut Creek, and Sonata Delray Beach. The communities were all opened in 2000 and they comprise a total of 340 units.
This transaction will increase Sonata’s total operating capacity to 425 units with one additional community in development, Sonata West, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017.
