The Villages, Fla. – Serenades by Sonata at The Villages, a Sonata Senior Living community, is pleased to welcome new Executive Director Dell Richards. Dell’s background includes 30 years in telecommunications and over five years in Assisted Living and Memory Care. She has an extensive background in management, project management, and marketing. “I’m so happy to be selected to be a part of the Serenades family! I’m excited about my role as Executive Director in The Villages and I look forward to building a dynamic team and making our community the best memory care community in the area,” said Dell. While in telecommunications, Dell managed a national team that encompassed nineteen states and also worked directly with the FAA.
After moving on from the telecommunications industry, Dell was intrigued with starting a new career where she could make an impact on helping elderly people and assisting them with the aging process. She initially began working in activities and fell in love with working in assisted living. From that point on, Dell worked as a Business Office and HR manager, Marketing Director, and Executive Director, roles that have prepared her to join the Sonata family.
In her down time, Dell has cultivated a full family life and is married to her husband Bill, who serves as the Fire Inspector for Sumter County. Together they have three grown children, Jeremie, Erica, and Rebekah, as well as two cats and two dogs. Dell enjoys reading, crafts, riding horses, and boating, and can be found out on the lake with her husband with a picnic basket of wine and cheese.
Located at 2450 Parr Drive in The Villages, Serenades is southeast of the intersection of County Road 466 and Belvedere Blvd. and adjacent to The Villages Public Library. Upon its completion in late 2013, Serenades became the first stand-alone memory care community located in The Villages that is specifically designed and programmed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
From licensed nurses on site 24 hours daily to the latest innovative safety and security technologies, Serenades’ commitment to raising the bar for memory care assisted living through person-directed memory care is evidenced throughout. The purpose-built design features three beautifully decorated and inviting neighborhoods, each containing 15 apartments comprised of spacious private suites and affordable 2 bedroom shared suites, and unimpeded access to the 10,000 square foot inviting internal courtyard boasting lush gardens, putting green and butterfly gardens. “Many families caring for a loved one with memory impairments often need help but postpone assisted living due to the limited options available. I am excited to join a community that creates a new standard for memory care and offers families the help they need, in a setting and manner they can feel good about,” said Dell Richards.
Reservations for one of the 45 select apartments are now being accepted.
