Is Touring Assisted Living During Coronavirus Safe?
Along with strict adherence to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, senior living communities have developed safe touring practices to provide greater peace of mind to families and residents in their care.
Safe touring practices in senior living generally include symptom screening, enhanced cleaning and sanitation guidelines, and social distancing.
Safe Touring at Sonata Senior Living
At Sonata Senior Living, the health and safety of our residents is our number one priority.
Sonata is open and offering scheduled tours of its independent living and assisted living communities. Get the latest updates on our reopening information here.
Our touring guidelines have been developed to assure our residents a safe environment. Touring guidelines also assure our guests a safe touring experience.
Safe touring practices at Sonata include three steps:
1. STEP ONE: GUEST CHECK-IN
Be sure to schedule your tour in advance so that we may make proper arrangements. Please note, no walk-ins are accepted at this time.
Prior to your arrival, we recommend guests call the community to allow adequate time to prepare and sanitize meeting spaces.
We have developed check-in guidelines to ensure the safety of both our residents and guests. These include:
- Check-in with concierge
- Watch short video on safe touring practices
- Temperature/symptom screening
- Bring your mask
- Wash & sanitize hands
2. STEP TWO: TOUR GUIDELINES
Enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols are enforced at Sonata Senior Living to maintain safe touring. While our guests are permitted to tour an apartment, we limit tours to two people and send in a cleaning crew after each and every tour.
- Limit tour to two (2) visitors
- Wear face mask at all times
- Maintain safe social distancing
- Disinfect sales office and model after every tour
3. STEP THREE: AFTER TOUR DISCUSSION
Infection prevention in senior living is not new. In fact, we have been implementing safety guidelines in senior living since we opened our first community. Be sure to let your community relations director know if you have questions about moving to assisted living during coronavirus. We want you to be comfortable and most importantly, feel safe.
- Discuss care amenities
- Review safety features and guidelines
- Review floorplans and pricing
- Review move-in process
- Take home brochure
Safety Technology in Senior Living
Nothing could be more important than the safety and security of your loved one. While exploring senior living communities, be sure to ask about safety technology in assisted living.
Remember, not all senior living communities are created equal. All aspects of Sonata Senior Living have been designed to promote the well-being of our residents.
